An official ribbon cutting ceremony recently took place to celebrate the opening of the Parent Consultation/Family Room at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Holtz Children’s Hospital. The room is one part of the renovation of the Unit, thanks to a $750,000 gift from Bank of America Charitable Foundation given to Jackson Memorial Foundation for the Holtz Children’s Hospital and to the University of Miami, Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. A portion of the gift was used to upgrade the NICU and included: new state-of-the-art equipment and floors, a bigger and more up-to-date unit, larger nursing station, and new beds. In addition, the funds from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation have also been used for cutting-edge research.
